Collection of manuscripts from the 17th and 18th centuries transcribed later. [ca. 1780-1850].

There are nine transcribed pieces. The original authors wrote primarily in the second half of the 18th century, except for one essay, originally penned in 1651. The authors, in the order in which they are presented, are John Churchman; Joseph White; Mordecai Yarnall; an epistle, unsigned; James Usher; Mary Peisley; Richard Shackleton; Christopher Love; and John Lucas.

Joseph White was a Quaker minister from Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Richard Shackleton, son of Abraham Shackleton (1697-1771), founder of the Quaker school at Ballitore, Co Kildare, Ireland. In 1756, he succeeded his father as master of the school, where he remained until replaced by his son Abraham in 1779.
